Getting Your CDL in Order to Work for Trucking Companies in Ohio

If you want to work for any of the trucking companies in Ohio, you will need to obtain your Commercial Drivers License (CDL). In Ohio, you will need to be 18 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle in state and 21 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle outside of the state. Additionally, If you plan to transport hazardous materials or passengers while driving a commercial vehicle, you must be 21 years old.

The first step to getting your CDL and working for the trucking companies in Ohio is applying for your Ohio Commercial Learners Permit (CLP).
