Diesel Technology
Students who are accepted into the Diesel Technology program at Long Beach City College will receive the specialized knowledge and training needed to be able to properly diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines and/or Caterpillar equipment. Students are taught by expert instructors in both the classroom and the laboratory.
Through hands-on training, students will learn how to properly use technical manuals, computers, and hand tools to perform each job. Students who complete the Diesel Technology program at Long Beach City College will be well-equipped with the basic knowledge, skills, and work attitude necessary to secure and hold an entry-level job as a diesel mechanic in the diesel and heavy equipment industry.
The Two-Year Undergraduate Certificate
Long Beach City College offers a two-year Undergraduate Certificates in Diesel Technology. Long Beach City College also offers a two-year Undergraduate Certificate in Diesel Technology with an emphasis in Caterpillar. Both Undergraduate Certificates are Pell Grant eligible. Some students may qualify for the BOG Fee Waiver to help pay for their education.
