Diesel/Ag Technology
The Diesel/Ag Technology program at Tri-County Career Center provides high school students with the knowledge and training required to properly maintain and repair agriculture equipment and heavy equipment.
Through hands-on training, students will learn how to inspect, diagnose, and repair multiple types of diesel engines and equipment using computerized diagnostic machines, wiring diagrams, tech manuals, and hand tools, as they disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble diesel engines and their integrated computer-controlled systems.
Students will also gain valuable hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing both gasoline and diesel-powered engines, drive trains, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, suspension and steering systems, and heating and cooling systems. Welding, spray painting, body repair, and planned maintenance will also be taught and practiced.
Each student will develop critical thinking and reasoning skills, as well as effective time management skills, as they work independently and in teams to complete every assignment in a thorough and efficient manner. Shop safety and a positive work attitude will also be stressed throughout the two-year program.
