Marine Diesel Engine Technology
The Marine Diesel Engine Technology program at L.E. Fletcher Technical Community College is designed to educate and train students on how to properly diagnose, service, and repair marine diesel engines. Students receive important classroom instruction and valuable hands-on training, as they learn how to overhaul diesel engines and their component systems, repair marine transmissions, repair hydraulic systems, as well as learn proper rigging techniques and welding for mechanics.

Students are also be required to take English Composition, Algebra, Social Science, Humanities, Science, and Intro to Computers in order to meet the 52 credit requirements of the Diploma program. Students must complete each class and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, the equivalent of a “C” grade, in order to graduate.
