It is true that some states will put a restriction on your CDL if you DO test in an automatic transmission tractor. Is there any reason why you want to take the test in an automatic tractor? As far as I know, most (not all) trucking companies make their employees drive 10-speed manual tractors. I’m guessing you trained on a tractor with an automatic transmission?
