Diesel Technology  

The Diesel Technology program at Bishop State Community College provides training, knowledge and skills for students who desire to learn how to troubleshoot and repair truck and heavy equipment systems. 

Specialized classroom and laboratory activities provide each student with the opportunity to learn all phases of repair work on diesel-powered equipment, such as diagnosing malfunctions, servicing and repairing diesel equipment, and repairing fuel injection systems.

Students will also learn how to properly use technical manuals and tools to perform each job. Proper techniques for machine testing will also be discussed. Students who complete the Diesel Technology program at Bishop State Community College will be equipped with the basic knowledge, skills, and work attitude necessary to secure and hold an entry-level job as a diesel mechanic.

The Diesel Technology A.O.T. Course Outline

The Diesel Technology Associate in Occupational Technologies Degree program consists of the following courses:

The Associate in Occupational Studies Degree and Undergraduate Certificate

Bishop State Community College offers a two-year Associate in Occupational Studies Degree in Diesel Technology with a minor in Truck Driving so students can obtain their CDL. Bishop State Community College also offers a two-year Undergraduate Certificate in Diesel Technology. Both programs are Pell Grant eligible.
